THE LIFELONG LEARNER - Grow Your Veterinary Career in Northern California

Never stop learning. Never stop growing.

Veterinary medicine keeps evolving and you want a career that gives you the opportunity to evolve with it.

Maybe you’re looking for mentorship as you build confidence. Maybe you’re an experienced veterinarian ready to develop a new clinical interest, attend more advanced training or become a mentor yourself. Or maybe your ideal career is focused on excellent general practice medicine without surgery.

At Vetco Total Care, there isn’t just one way to grow. For select Northern California opportunities, we’re prepared to invest even more in your education, mentorship and access to clinical resources so you can build the career and the veterinarian you want to become.

Put your CE toward what matters to you.

Your continuing education should reflect where you want to go next.

In addition to VTC’s continuing education benefits, select Lifelong Learner opportunities can include an enhanced CE award of up to $3,500, giving you greater opportunity to pursue education aligned with your interests and goals.

Want to attend a conference or pursue additional learning beyond your annual CE? Additional conference opportunities may also be considered and approved based on your development goals.

Whether you’re deepening an existing skill or discovering a new one, we want your CE investment to help move your career forward.

Find a mentor or become one.

Some of the most valuable learning happens veterinarian to veterinarian.

As a Lifelong Learner, you can be automatically connected to PACKS, VTC’s mentorship program, with a path designed around where you are in your career.

That could mean participating as a mentee, sharing your experience as a mentor, or engaging as a Learner who wants continued development and connection without a traditional mentor-mentee relationship.

Because mentorship shouldn't only be available at the beginning of your career.

Keep clinical resources at your fingertips.

Automatic access to Veterinary Information Network (VIN) and other available clinical resources can give you trusted information and learning support when you need it, whether you're researching a case, exploring a treatment approach or simply satisfying your curiosity.

Your learning becomes part of how you practice every day.

Build your career around your strengths.

Not every veterinarian wants surgery to be part of their practice and that shouldn't limit your opportunity to build a meaningful career.

For select opportunities, surgery isn't required.

If your strengths and interests are in general medicine, diagnostics, preventative care, client relationships or another area of practice, let's talk about building an opportunity that allows you to focus on where you do your best work.

Learn with autonomy.

Development also comes from having the freedom to make decisions, try new approaches and build confidence in your own medical judgment.

At VTC, doctors lead the medicine. You make medical decisions based on what's right for the pet, supported by veterinary leaders, hospital teams and clinical resources, not sales quotas.
